The chart Below shows that as of now around 64% of the Judges of Supreme Court of India appointed are reserved for the progeny, kith & kin of the existing higher echelons of judiciary and politics and the remaining 40% is open for the 129 crore people! What an equality?! Really 64:36 sharing, Based upon the principles of natural justice and right to equality!
And this is what is termed as “independence of judiciary”, as will be maintained if the appointments are made by the Collegium. This “Supremacy of Judiciary” will be compromised, if the appointments are done in a transparent manner, after inviting applications to the vacancies and conducting selection procedures.
The Source of this information is the empirical data collected from the respective websites by the author. This is the back ground at which the National Judicial Commission Act,2014 and 99th Constitutional (Amendment) Act, 2014 were enacted. This data is based upon the voluntary disclosures made by the respective judges in the official websites or collected from the reliable websites. Among these are also, some judges have not disclosed the relevant data. It clearly shows that, in reality the self proclaimed quota will be still higher.
